There is a great deal of controversy surrounding the origins of House music. Some claim that the term "House" derived from the Warehouse District in Chicago in the late 1970s - early 1980s. One of these underground spots, became known as "The Warehouse". The resident DJ at The Warehouse, Frankie Knuckles, mixed classic disco, European synthpop, new wave, punk and industrial records. Club regulars referred to his mixes as House music.

It has been argued that Chip E.'s early recording "It's House" defined this new form of electronic music. However, Chip E. himself claims the name came from the record store he worked at in the early 80s labelling music that DJ Knuckles played at the Warehouse as "As Heard At The Warehouse", which was shortened to simply "The House".

At Gooodness, we appreciate the eclectic nature of House music, more as a Culture than a kind of sound or genre. The progression of the culture through different times and places gave birth to what House is today - a spectrum of sounds, drawing influences from different genres and respecting the roots - to gain sophistication where only the most quality cuts apply. It is EDM - Eclectic Dancefloor Music - this, to us, is what House music is about.
